Thanks Whitney, wish I had this sooner. I came home overwhelmed, though I could tell everyone about the conference I felt stuck. It was difficult to come home (church that is) to Toronto after being with this many women who are for you and where I received real tools from you all. I had to make a decision just this week to pull myself up and here you are along with others with needful encouragement. Thanks again.
Great post Whitney! Good advice and as a mom with 5 little people (just turned one to 9 1/2) I get what you are saying about seasons of life.
I came home with this main message - own it! As you shared about God telling you to do just that with the outline, He was telling me to own my calling, my gifts, my identity...I sense what He's saying, but I return to reality and sometimes I wonder "how?" I mean life is crazy, but sometimes I know I use that as an excuse... And sometimes I can even use my season of life as an excuse - I allow mommy guilt at times to keep me from doing what God wants (if that makes any sense?) Anyway it was great to hear your three points; once again you've given me lots to think about... My husband is the biggest supporter I have, so we will pray together specifically. Thank you much...Jill
Great video blogpost, Whitney! So glad Jesus won the battle :)I wanted to give you a bit of encouragement and let you know about some fruit that is ripening because of your obedience to speak on Sunday morning. This was my 2nd trip to She Speaks and both times God has spoken loudly with His still small voice. He spoke the loudest through you. As I was driving home from my first She Speaks experience, God spoke specifically to me about starting a magazine, "Living Real". This September, we will be distributing our 4th issue. This time at She Speaks, my assignment came from what you taught and as a result, I am now writing a Bible study for my daughter who has just begun her senior year in high school. It's based on spiritual warfare, and our spiritual wardrobes. I will be giving this to her in final form for graduation. Through you, God spoke loudly again to me through She Speaks. Hopefully, next year, this study will be added to the Living Real Bible study curriculum on line. Thank you so much for your willingness to be a "megaphone" for the Holy Spirit to speak through you to me and to others.
It's WAY after She Speaks but I stumbled across your blog tonight and just had to say hello (and thank you!). This was my first year at SS and right after the conference, I traveled straight to Chicago to be in a wedding and visit friends. I didn't get to process everything for several weeks but I am so glad that God met me in my asking and praying! In fact, when I returned home to NY, I went back to my notes from your session. Praise God for your message on spiritual warfare! Such a timely word for us to leave with (and actually timely for the season I'm in right now)! Had I not gone to Him after SS, I would've just been overwhelmed with all that (awesome) info. Though I'm not doing all that I "thought" I should be (unrealistic standards), I do know that I'm taking the steps in the direction I believe He led me for this season. I pray I'm able to stay the course and also to go to She Speaks again next year! Thanks for being such an encouragement to so many!
Wife, Mom, lover of God, enemy of Satan. I'm striving for holiness and coming up WAY short. Praise God-He's made up not the difference but the sum total. Grace that is greater than all our sin! And in case this seems too heavy, I love shoes, handbags, a good eyebrow wax, and my iphone.
